Thomas Brooks

Thomas has gained wide recognition with his depiction of mood and light in his paintings. These works are collected nationally as well as internationally. Through the sale of his artwork he has aided the fund raising efforts of many wildlife conservation groups and charitable organizations. His work has been published in Gray’s Sporting Journal, Wild Life Art, Sporting Classics,  and Inform Art magazines, and juried and accepted into national wildlife art exhibitions. He was chosen as winner of the Florida Wildlife Conservation Stamp Competition for two consecutive years, 1995-96 and 1996-97, and is an award winning artist for three consecutive years for National Wild Turkey Federation.

Thomas was commissioned by Florida NWTF to create a five year series of work for their sponsor print program. He was also commissioned to create the Arkansas State Wildlife Conservation Stamp for the years 2000, 2002, 2004, and 2005. He has been selected by the National Wild Turkey Federation to be their artist of the year for 2011 and his work was chosen for their 2011 National Turkey Stamp and print package for national distribution. Thomas was the featured painter for The Plantation Wildlife Art Festival in Thomasville Georgia for 2007, and the Artist of The Year for the 2009 Southeastern Wildlife Exposition in Charleston, South Carolina.

Spending many hours in the natural environment and wildlife habitat provides him with the needed inspiration for his work. Using the photography and sketches from these trips he is able to create a work with the mood and light he is known for. Thomas exhibits his work annually at several wildlife art exhibitions and also accepts commission work from many of his collectors.
